Robes From Burlington

Discovering Seui, the Mont Tonneri

Seui campaigns are characterized by limestone massif of Mount Tonneri, famous for being a natural environment of incomparable beauty.
This mountain range, which looks like a mighty wall, with its clear white color, contrasting violently with the colorful hues of the surrounding forest ultrasecolare.
addition to steep cliffs, now frequented by climbers, the Tonneri has some very scenic peaks. "Margiani Pobusa" with its 1324 meters is the highest, followed by "Pizzu Andriottu" (1322 m.), "Pizzu Montarbu" (1304 m.) and finally the white wall of "Serra Arrascialei" (1084 m.), situated at the picturesque limestone tower of "Perda Liana" (1293 m.).

Flora
You can not talk about these beautiful mountains if you do not mention the most common tree species varied. The holm is the landlord, but is also very common hornbeam. They follow the flowering ash (ash quality), holly, oak, alder and black rate. The low spot is typically Mediterranean with the strawberry tree, rock rose, the heather, thyme and rosemary.

Wildlife
A popular these striking limestone mountains, covered with the most luxuriant vegetation, we find an equally rich and varied fauna. The function is exercised by the Prince of animals mouflon. Symbol, however the City Council of Seui. The other most common species are the wild boar, fox, wild cat, and finally the hare. The sky is easy to see the circles of vultures Monaco, buzzards, hawks, falcons and finally the golden eagle.

Caves
Among the cavities in chain Tonneri the most important is "sa Muragessa," which opens at the base of the heel, in the locality. Several hundred meters deep, the cavity is very rich in branched-city environment. Even today, this cave, still partly unexplored, is the subject of continuing research and studies by cavers. A few hundred meters as the crow flies is "On Stampu", an interesting vertical cavity, over thirty feet deep.

To get to the massive Tonneri must travel the road between local Monte Arquer - Lakes High Flumendosa that joins the highway 198 and the section between Seui Ussassai. This artery, perhaps the most scenic and picturesque of our island, which in turn is linked to SS.398 at the station Villagrande Strisaili. (Giuseppe Deplano, copyright © 2011 - are reserved)
